My speedometer keeps jumping on my 1991 mustang. It is the speedometer that runs up to 140 MPH. It isnt even remotely close to being accurate, it just jumps from 10 mph to 100 mph, no matter what speed I go. I have checked the gear in the transmission and it is good. the cable is also good and has been lubed. I have been told its the cluster but they do not make new ones anymore. I would perfer to get a new one instead of a used one at a salvage yard.. any thoughts or suggestions?

I thought about going with a Autometer speedometer, but I do not know how I can mount the guage on the dash and have enough cable to run up to it without cutting out the factory speedometer in the cluster.:scratchchin
