Hi, I have a 92 5.0 V8 Mustang with 105,000 miles on it. The check engine light keeps flashing on and off, but more frequently. It came on once last year (I've only owned the car for 2 years) and I added fuel injector cleaner which seemed to solve the problem. I did it again this time, and it didn't work. I am due for an oil change, but I doubt this is the solution (as I figure the check oil light would come on). Also, as I begin to accelerate the engine makes what can only be described as a "sore throat" sound.
If anyone has any suggestions for me, I'd greatly appreciate them. I don't have a lot of money right now, so any DIY ideas would be great.
Thanks.

Only time I've seen my light go on and come off was when it had a massive vacuum leak. You can scan it for codes, too.

There's no point in guessing, scan it for codes. If you don't have a scanner you can pick one up from wal mart, autozone, etc. for around 30-40 bucks.
