I was getting out of my car earlier this week when I tried to open the door and I'm guessing that I might have pulled too hard and the latch no longer grabs on to whatever inside the door. Is this common and is it an easy fix? Will I just need to take the door panel off? Thanks

You are more than likely going to have take the door panels off.

Door Handle

I had a similar experience with my passenger side door handle. What I discovered was a very small roll pin had moved out of position. I simply took a small screwdriver and pressed it back into position. All done from the outside. The pin is underneath the handle where the handle pivots.

It's either the pin, or the handle itself inside where it attaches to the rod is broken. Very common, get some metal handles should you need to replace them and you won't have this problem again.
