Hi everyone, I have a 93 coupe I purchase from the CHP, lately I have not been able to enjoy the car due to a foul smell emanating from the engine bay. Said smell is a combination of gas fumes with exhaust gases, after driving for 10-15 minutes the smell gives me headaches and dizziness; my mechanic could not find anything lose or breaks that could be leaking out. The car is been seating in my driveway for 3 months or so and I just started the engine and it sounded bad as if the catalytic converters were loose. Someone told me that Mustangs are prone to leak gas from the injector seals, but I have no idea if is true; any suggestions or ideas on how to proceed from here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Carlos

Los,
I’d start with a tune-up. New spark plugs, wires, rotor, and distributor cap. It might not be the issue but it wouldn’t hurt since it’s been sitting. I’d also check the fuel pressure. Get a fuel gauge. I’d also scan for error codes with an obd scanner or a paper clip.

If there is no holes in the exhaust, I would look at the cats.
