i have a 1993 mustang and on the title it says gt/cobra is there any reason other than i have a cobra color code (ey)

That's pretty common, insurance companies lump the standard Mustang V8 and the Cobra in together for their own purposes. The DMV follows the insurance companies lead and vice versa.
