I have a blown V6 in my car and I a going to order a rebuilt 94 V6 engine. I plan on taking the engine out and opening it up jsut to see what's going on in there. Since i'm getting a new one installed professionally I thought it would be interesting to take it out and see the inside. I just want to know if there is a certain set of steps I should follow or just go at it. I have a pretty good understanding of how engines work but i've never pulled one out before. Thanks for any ideas.

Just make sure they don't need a core charge, usually long and short blocks from remanufactured companies want cores. Or just make sure you put it back together before they take it.

Most the time if its a long block, they want the bottom end, heads, valvetrain, and the valve covers. Just send it back like you got the reman motor.
