I need help. This morning my wife calls me and tells me that the car is shakeing really bad. After work I went to see what was going on, I took it to a shop because my check engine light was on and because Autozone supposelly didn't have the scanner for that year. Its a 1994 Mustang 3.8 liter. The mehcanin out the scanner and it showed missfire #2. He took out the spark plug and he said that its smelled like coolant. I have never been with this mehcanic, but he wasn't very helpful at all, he put a ne spark plug and the car has ran fine since then, I am not sure if it's safe for my wife to use it for work or not and if that solve the problem. Please let me know what you think. Oh and I've replaced those spaek plugs about 6 months ago and only put in about 6,000 miles or so. Should I replace them again?????:shigrin

Welcome... Stop driving it immediately and have it towed to a shop. Sounds like you've got yourself an internal coolant leak. It's either a head, head gasket, or lower intake leak. Driving it could be very damaging to your bearings.

check your oil. if your oil is grey then you probably have a blown head gasket, but possibly the other 2 conditions may apply. if it is grey don't drive it or you will fry the engine. you can also check the radiator. while the car is running have the cap off(when it's cold) and if you see air bubbling and/or smell exhaust in the coolant-probably the head gasket. check the plugs if you think they may be a problem and see if they are in good condition-burnt or oil fouled, etc. it's possible the plug he replaced had the ground electrode broken off which would have caused a dead cylinder condition at the time.

The shaking makes me think electrical like the spark plug.
I agree with the others check the oil and see if it's gray. Check the radiator as well. Any leaks on the ground?
