1995 5.0 Mustang GT Unidentified Part. Please Help!

On my ’95 GT there is a part that connects in between the electric cooling fan motor and the rest of the wiring harness. I cannot find this part anywhere! I have been looking all over the internet, have been to many different auto parts stores and even went to the Ford dealership…no one knows what this part is. The closest I came to finding the part was at an auto salvage, but the part had already been taken. The guy at the auto salvage called it a fan regulator. I have seen this part on other ’95 GTs attached to the fan shroud with zip ties. There are no markings that show it to be a ford part. Here is another thing I find interesting the fan only has two wires( black and blue) coming off of it, which plug into this mystery part. Then the plug with the three wires( black, red, orange/blue) plugs into the other end. When I bought the car I was told this part was bad. The fan is on a switch right now, but I would like replace the part and get the fan back to normal. Does anyone know what this part is call or a part #?

Ok, so I did a lot of research and this is what I found. It's the fan motor circuit breaker. You can see it and info on it at this site.

I got a 95 Mustang GT 5.0 Liter... The cooling fan is not coming - JustAnswer
You are my hero! I have spent over a month looking for that information!
Glad to help! I don't think a part like that should be to costly, but if so and you want a used one just check out the classifieds on here or ask for some useful sites and I'm sure you'll get some great suggestions. Good luck!:bigthumbsup
I have already checked around on prices and found one for $23.00. I ordered it and should have in in a couple days! Thanks again!
Well, you figured out what it was...so now it is useless trivia time...

Can you guess why that part is on the car? Here's a hint - it was not on the car when it rolled off of the assembly line...

On a side note, the fan should plug directly into the CCRM without using that circuit breaker and without cutting any wires if I remember correctly...should be no need for a switch if the CCRM is functioning properly...

I'm guessing it's because the cooling fan in the car is not the correct one since he said there's only two wires coming off of it.

Doesn't really make sense to me, though.
I would have to agree that the fan is wrong. I have been looking for a two wire pigtail to repair the plug that has been cut off and cannot find one. Another thing that makes me believe that is that the circuit breaker that came off my Stang doesn’t appear to be a Ford part. The markings on it make me think it is aftermarket, but the part I ordered is a Motorcraft part. I have found two wire fans on other Ford models, but none of the say anything about being compatible with a Mustang. It is almost like they used a fan from one of the other models and put in the breaker to make them work.
Please tell me the answer to the useless knowledge question…I still have a little room left in my brain for useless facts before I have to start dumping things like math to make room for more.

Beats me....I just installed a aftermarket fan and ran a toggle switch on my steering column. If I run into heavy traffic, I just switch it on.

There was a recall on the electric fans not coming on when the motor reached a certain temp.

I remember when my dad took my car in for the little circuit thing.
Funny thing is...after it was installed the fan didn't work at ALL. Overheated unless he was moving at a constant speed.
Ended up getting a free electric fan from the Ford dealership though.
I don't think its the same as a stock one though...it seems HUGE and is loud as hell.

Can't remember if it was related to the overheating (probably...)but the stock radiator ended up cracking around the same time period.

Now that I think of it, my car had one of those things on it when I got it from the previous owner. I had forgot about it because I've replaced the cooling fan so many times (it's HOT here).

When I got the new fan I ditched the part because the new one had a 3 wire input, and I have to replace the connector every time anyway because it always burns out.

YUP. Ford band-aid that caused more problems than it fixed.

IMHO, it is an unnecessary part that can be scrapped. My car does not have it. My fan has not caught on fire. Now, I may be driving down the road tomorrow and burst into flames, but I doubt it...
