Ok, I have a 95 5.0 5 speed. I have trouble shifting from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd when the shes been running for about 20 mins in hot weather. Sometimes she even just stalls out, which I think is fuel pump related but figured I say it anyway. It's just hard as hell to move the shifter in low gears, practically feels like the cables gonna snap. But once I am driving over 25mph she shifts fine.

Note.

I have swapped the tranny fluid less than 6 months and less than 10,000 miles ago. I also had the clutch replaced in January and never had a issue with it.

does it have a leak? sounds like low fluid. if it is low add some royal purple syncro-max fluid, good stuff. :bigthumbsup

You know, the level is pretty much full.

How many miles are on it? The gears might be worn and when the fluid thins out (after it gets warm), the gap between the gears increases.

152k. Also note.

I used Penzoils new universal tranny fluid not dex/mer 3. Im thinking that could be a issue.

Also, if I was to change fluid what would anyone reccomend, a standard dexron/mercon iii or a high mileage atf?
