i have a 1995 h/o 302 in my 1977 mustang
and it runs and sounds good, but when i go to drive it
once i get over like 1500 rpm it doesnt have any balls.
i cant get up to speed it seems.
it feels like it has no power...
its carburated and i have a holley 4 barrel carb.
i also have a 289 edlebrock preformer intake on it.
when im driving and i give it gas the motor shakes
and it wont go faster than 20-40 mph.

any help would be appreciated..

have you checked your firing order:?: sounds like your dropping a cylinder. I had the same issue on mine and i replaced the plugs and wires due to a bad plug wire, also is it a new carb:?: some say you can bolt one on and go NOT TRUE, check your basics first

i think most of the issue is in the carb. it was setup on a 302 bored out and built with 1966 289 heads and a 289 edlebrock preformer intake, when the engine blew i used the 289 intake and the holley 4 barrel carb that it was setup on. and i think some of the issue is in the timing. when i turn the dist. to the drive side it gets like grogey. i can head it in the carb. but when i turn it to the passenger side it like winds faster.
