My 1996 3.8 Mustang has 84000 miles and I recently did a head gasket job on it. I also had the transmission filter replaced but did not drain the torque converter. It shifts out fine, but there is a little hesitation at times that I believe is coming from either the transmission or the converter. There was no metal in the pan when the filter was changed. I had this problem with my 1998 F-150 and the complete transmission service fixed the problem. Anyone out there with a similar problem?
