You'll spend more on making it into a GT than you would if you fixed it, sold it, and bought a GT instead. Not worth the time, money or work unless the car itself has massive sentimental value.

Why did you make 2 threads for this?

A V8 conversion is about the hugest, most complicated, time consuming, and expensive project there is. Don't bother.

Just get another V6. You could consider swapping to a 4.2 and/or split port conversion (99-04 3.8 style engine)

It should be a 96, 97 or 98, and with 110K miles I wouldn't pay more than $400. And that's only if I REALLY needed it.

Why don't you tear the original down and rebuild it? It's just as difficult, but somewhat more rewarding. :bigthumbsup

BTW, I don't mean rebuild the whole engine: just the top end.

If you do tear down the original, I recommend rockauto.com for the gaskets. They're nearly 40% cheaper than Autozone, etc. for this sort of thing. They also have cheaper coils, spark plugs and O2 sensors, if you're into those sorts of things.
