From what I've been told, the 97 cobra block is actually preferred over most other years. My buddy specifically used a 97 cobra block in his 99 turbo cobra pushing +20lbs of boost and over 700rwhp.Just be sure that you get the appropriate dish piston to match the amount of boost you plan on running. The larger the dish, the lower the static compression, which requires more boost. I didn’t pay attention and went with 17cc dish. I’m at 8.5:1 static and have to make 14lbs of boost to get to what I was at stock with 9.5lbs. I think a 5cc dish is about perfect
