I bought a 1997 Ford Explorer. It came stock with a 5.0, and GT40 heads. I'm looking to buy an f303 cam. With that cam, it requires to change the Valve Springs. I'm an apprentice Tech, So I'm learning as I go. If someone could tell me which Valve springs I need to go with, or any other information, I'd appreciate it.

There are a few companies that make some drop in kits so look at TFS, Comp Cams and Alex spring kit. All these will drop in without machining.

I called Summit yesterday, the tfs kit with locks & retainers is only 254.00.... I'm wanting to order the f303 cam, I'm wondering, if I would be fine with stock springs? At least, for a couple of weeks. I have the stock gt40p heads. I need a computer controlled cam... the f303 is 288/288 duration 512/512 lift.
