I have 1997 Ford Mustang GT (automatic). Today first time I noticed a knocking sound when I go to start the car. It sounds like it is coming from behind the radio. I have no clue what it can be. I just got the car a few months ago. Does anyone have any idea what it is? If so, do you also know is it some pricey repair. It will be really annoying hearing that in the car w/ other ppl inside it let alone myself.

not an extreme expert but id say to have the pistons re-torqued im not sure on the price thou....are u able to explain further in detail about the knock? like Loudness,deep knock or a light knock, the last time you drove it for more than an hour and heard a ticking noise at all, and the last oil change?
