i just did my first mod engine upgrades over the coarse of this year. i put a 98 dual cam engine in a 98 gt, with minor complications, and just finished installing new crower stage 2 cams. before i started the cam swap my freind said he started getting a whining noise, i never got it to do it and after the repair it never did it but after he picked it up it satarted again. it is intermittent sounds like it is from the passenger side. now it does get lean bank 1and 2 codes but only at slow speeds.
i was wondering if the air box, which is cut open with a k&n, would do this or is ther something in the fender i might be over looking? it kinda sounds like a alternator bearing noise. also it has regular o2s up front but elimenators out back could o2s still cause lean codes? no vacuum leaks found yet.
