hey guys i found this motor to put in my car. I have a few questions.

does 98 svt cobra motors come with forged cranks?

second how hard is it to rebuild?

and last but not least it says minus lower intake. I can not find one listed for sale anywhere. Where can i find one and about what price do they run?

Below is quoted the ad

"up for grabs a 98 mustang svt cobra motor. it has an aluminimum teksid block (worth $300 alone BARE) Forged steel cobra crank. Complete motor minus the lower intake manifold. Everything else from wireing harness to oil pan there. 4 v heads and cams. Needs rebuild. will sell for $250"

what you think?

I wish i could answer all your questions but i do know that the crank IS forged. i had mine rebuilt by modular mustang racing here in ventura. it took about 2 and a half months and runs strong!

2 and a half months to build a motor?
That is a GREAT deal and you'd be better off anyway putting a 99-01 Cobra intake on:bigthumbsup Why does it need a rebuild?

yeah man 250 for a true cobra engine is a good deal, make sure you look at the crank when you buy it if you do, if it has 6 flywheel bolts its not a cobra engine, i have seen people take a mark viii engine and try to sell it as a cobra engine without the intake manifold, so just count the bolts and if its an 8 bolt crank you are good to go man.
