1998 Mustang V6 engine whining noise???

:headscratch: I have a '98 mustang automatic V6 3.8L. I am hearing a whining noise in the engine. It is more profound when the radio is on than when the radio is off. The whining noise increases and decreases as the gears shift. I tested my battery and alternator and the readings are all in check. I want to be proactive instead of reactive. Does anyone know what else this could be?

didnt just happen to replace plugs and or plug wires recently or replace any radio components? sounds like ur hearing noise over the radio/stereo.
you may need to install a line filter on the head unit or amp to get rid of it.
No new plugs and my radio is stock so I know that's not it. I'm stumped!!! I've pretty much checked everything, the battery, alternator, pulley, everything I can think of. Maybe I should just take it to the shop but thanks for the advise. Hearing it through the radio is pretty annoying.
my car's engine whines. does it occur when you just back off the gas or when you're on the gas? Whenever I lift off the gas I can hear the engine whining.

Also what gear is it most prominent? If it's first gear that you hear the whining, that's from the transmission. That's normal, it's just what the 4R70W does...

The only time I hear it the most is when I first start the car after it's been sitting awhile. The noise does increase when I give it gas and decreases when I slow down or idle. The noise also shifts as my gears shift too.
can you get a video of this whine?

Start your car up, pop the hood, progressively increase the throttle and see where the sound is coming from.
I have a whine noise and i need help i know its not the speakers or sterio. I was told it might be the belt needs to be tightened and that my alternator and stering pump are going out. But heres the dill when it excellerates it whines louder and then dies down, the alterntor has been changed and sounds the same from the new one so i changed it back and the steering pump is just bad i can hear when i turn so i just need to know where else the whining can be from or will it just be the belt and the alternator?
