the other week my mustang wouldn't start. For awhile was having problem starting it then it had to be jumped a few times, went to take off alternator and belt was way loose. Had the alt tested and it was fine, put a new tensioner on so it would spin the alt, charge the battery, didnt work. Trickle charged battery, had trouble turning over so I took out the starter had it tested it was fine, put it back in battery was depleted so I got a new one. Now it won't start at all and the battery cables got hot and actually had a little smoke from them???? PLEASE HELP

You probably have a bad ground cable to block or positive cable to starter.I'd try replacing cables first and clean the termination points.A quick test to isolate a bad ground cable is to connect a battery jumper cable from battery negative to a clean metal connection on the block and see if that gets you a good crank speed.
