So my mustang has 142,000 miles on it and i thought it was about time to replace the timing chain or it any suggestion on how to do this also i am looking for a performance timing chain is this an option on the 3.8 thx jack:bigthumbsup

Timing chains do not need to be changed on a mileage basis. This is not a small job so you may want to reconsider it unless you have your heart set on it.

yes i kinda do have my heart set on it so does anyone know of any performance chain for the 1998 ford mustang 3.8 liter any thing would be apprecieated

A performance timing chain will not net you any gains, and I would not suggest replacing it. But if you really want to, Cloyes makes one for our cars. There is nothing performance about it......
