Hi, I have a 1999 Mustang GT (4.6L v8, Automatic), Im having problems on several things:

1- Problems when doing a cold start, I must try several times or accelerate it to achieve it, and some times it backfires on the start.
2 - GAS mileage in the toilet, literally.
3 - When I accelerate it hard it responds good, but then it fails and you can notice a dead time of like 1 second, then continues.
4 - Service Engine Light - passed the computer and gave me the codes P0340 (Camshaft Sensor) and the EGR problem code. Apart from this I mean, the car walks good.

I replaced both, the Camshaft sensor and the EGR valve, no changes at all !! And the Service engine soon light its still on.

I think the gas mileage problem have been increasing gradually in the last 2 months.

Oh, ANOTHER important thing, one day I was filling the Coolant reservoir, and I noticed that the car drinked the WHOLE 5litters coolant tank, theres no coolant on the reservoir, didnt noticed an external leak, and the car havent had heating problems.

Sorry for my bad English !! :D But i need your help guys

Sounds like either an 1) intake leak or 2) head gasket
