i have a 1999 mustang GT that i bought with a blown motor. I found a 4.6 SOHC Romeo engine out of a 2002 with 70k to swap in. I did the swap in August of 2011 and everything was fine. after driving for a while i noticed that the traction control would bog the engine out from just making a turn to accelerating so i just starting turning off the traction control every time and everything was fine. in the back of my mind i still remembered that it was still unusual that the traction control was coming on with daily driving. Over the weekend i was having some fun and raced a ss camaro. I was with him the whole time till i hit 120 and at 3700 rpm's i was limited or governed and i knew it had much more. it felt as if the fuel pumps just cut off fuel to the engine and i was pissed that i had to look at the taillights of the camaro. :banghead: After some research on OBDTester: OBD-2 Diagnostic software and interfaces i saw that there was an update for my current cpm/ecu firmware. my (HJX3)---- (XR3F-12A650-ABD)---(MLC-462A)......on the site it stated that the hardware type was supposed to be (MLC-462) and it didn't have the (A)......i don't know if that is good or bad... but the site also told me that there was an update to a (XU7A-12A650-ACA) which is a (XUG0) with the same hardware type of (MLC-462)......now i was just going to purchase a SCT X3 which would allow me to raise the top speed of the car and deal with the traction control but i was wondering if i would jus be able to take it to FORD and have them update my cpm for free.
Any help would be appreciated i don't know what way i should go or what i should do?
