I have some squealing problems with my 1999 GT. I have posted another thread about the pulleys being replaced and what not. Rite now, Im at the conclusion that it may be the fact that i bought a cheap belt, When i soak the belt in dish soap, the squealing stops, if it were a bad pulley, the squeal would continue rite? The squealing goes away anytime the belt has WD40 or dish soap on it, leading me to believe i just have a POS belt.

Let me know if Im wrong, I have replaced the serpentine belt with a Duralast Belt, and both the idler pulley and the tensioner pulley, still has the same squealing noise..like i said, at this point, i think it may be the belt, but let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Did you check your water pump? Spin the pulley on your water pump with the belt off to see if it s making noise, mine started to squeal after 102,000 miles.
