So excuse my newbness but, I just bought a 99 mustang the other day. There are a few questions I have.
1. The lights don't come on when I open the door, but do if I manually push the buttons on the overhead lights. Is this the way its supposed to be, or are they supposed to come on when I open the door?
2. So, it only came with one key and no clicker button. But I know there is an anti-theift system on it cause when I lock it and look through the window, I see the theft light blinking.
3. What type of windshield wiper blades do I need? I know size 20, but what type of connector piece?
4. I purchased a new sony cd player on ebay. What type of dash install kit do I need? Also, do I need a wiring harness? Its just the regular type base system in the car currently.
5. Ok, so, I'm pretty car retarded and new to all of this. When I purchased the car, it came with no owners manual or anything. I know its a 1999 v6 mustang 35th anniversary. It also has a lil emblem on the back that says "special edition." What does that mean?
6. Is there any website or book that someone can suggest to me for me to learn more about working on my mustang?

Congrats on your "new to you" purchase. A ton of ? for an opening post.

Regarding the interior lights not working, does the head light reminder work? Does the key minder work? If the answer is no, check the door open/close switch.

Regarding help on how to learn more about your car, if interested in getting a copy of the Ford service manual with wiring diagrams, I maybe able to help. PM if interested.

Check the light bulb in the cabin light as well, the reading lights are seperate from the door light.

about the windshield wipers. the ones i bought happened to have multiple connector things. but its a pretty standard connector. the wiper arm has a u-shaped hook that it clips to.

Figured it out today! Its the 20 inch J hook. Thank you nice auto zone people

Ok, so I checked. there are 2 bulbs in the dome thingy. Is that all thats supposed to be there? I tried to locate the pieces on the door, but couldn't find them.... What do they look like?

Also, I was trying to get touch up paint for my car today but then realized there are no stickers on the sides of either door that usually is there... How can I find out what color paint I need for touch ups?
