link one is not what you want.. you want link 2 and a catback designed for a v8. it needs the 2 exhaust connectors on it
Okay thanks so the h pipe need the exhaust connectors?
yes look at the picture, see the two small pipes on the left side with the flares on the right sides of them? those will bolt up to the 2 flanges on the h-pipe adapter. to be clear, you NEED the adapter the current mid-pipe has only one connector because the two banks of the exhaust come together to one single pipe. the adapter is there so you cut that part off of the mid-pipe and kind of splice in the h-pipe part. after you do that you can use any GT style exhaust, swap in whatever mufflers you want and all youd need extra is the exhaust hangers for the right side of the car
Yep that combined with the cat back adapter will work just fine :bigthumbsup
Let us know how it sounds, never heard the summit brand mufflers before
Okay i have another question that im not so clear about, i under stand i need the h pipe and the gt catback but my question is "to be clear, you NEED the adapter" are you talking about the h pipe or is there another adapter your talking about.

what i got so far is that the h pipe will fit on my stock exhaust to make it true duels and the h pipe will take away the stock y pipe from the cats? im just making sure i got this.
thanks ill post it up when i get them
what you're calling the h-pipe is the adapter.. a real h-pipe is way bigger and completely replaces the entire mid-pipe currently on the car (the part that goes from headers to cat-back and includes the catalytic converters).

this adapter, the second link from the first post, attaches to your stock mid-pipe(after cutting a bit of it away) and lets you put the GT-style cat-back in. got it?
This forum scares me with exhaust threads ...

Dont buy that after market BS.

Decide what mufflers you want. Find where to buy them cheapest. Buy cheap.

Go to your local exhaust shop and tell them what you want ...
material and labor cost might equal about what your going to spend on just parts with the adapter type **** ... Seen it done from anywhere around 300-500 bucks for cat backs depending on mufflers, mid pipe, and type of material and bends they use. And labor charge. Plus some people change prices for credit and cash.

H pipe can be fabbed or their are usually 8 million of them on craigslist taken off a GT for cheap as hell. All the shop has to do is cut your Y out, and well the new **** in, its not hard to adapt things.
Thanks mark i understand what your saying now...and mike i'll go to a few local shops to compare and we'll see but as far as craiglist none in my area.

Shops doing it are usually 10x better cause its welded exhuast. Clamps and leaks tend to mess life up and sound like poop on and already poopy V6 lol

Check your "big City" areas. Dallas is 1.5 hour away from me and their are TONS of mustang **** on there all the time. Everything for about a 3hour drive radius or more usually ends up there instead of the acutal area its from. I mean there is a general "east texas" section that gets hardly anything, then the dallas one gets a TON of **** from the east tx area, thats just where the buisness is and people advertise where its going to be seen the most....
well i went to two muffler shops...the first one i went to they wanted $225 with out mufflers. so thats pretty reasonble. the second shop i went to wanted $405 that included everything. but it was glass pacs and i hate the sound of those on a v6...
the first one the $225 said he'll leave the stock pipe on the one side.
im in the big city of missouri lol
