Hey guys, my car is whining quite a bit now. I have noticed it is only when I touch the throttle. It will happen for about 5 seconds, then it will stop. If i keep accelerating, it will keep whining.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks,
Cole

You should try and get an idea of where under the hood (approximate area) it is whining from.
It might be your alternator going bad. Or it could be the belt tensioner (bearing) going bad.
But i would say it is the alternator.

drop your belt and simply try turning each component. My alternator was the obvious culprit when I spun it by hand.

does your mustang whine when you steer? cause if that is the case then you should just flush out your power steering fluid, it worked for me :D
