1999 V6 Mustang Part Out - Questions

Hello everyone,

I've recently purchased a different car and am looking at parting out my 1999 V6 Mustang. I have a few friends that are seriously looking into entering a Lemons race so anything i can sell will reduce the price of the overall sale of the car.

I'm curious if this has been done before and what can i expect from some of the parts the board/site thinks will sell easily

Things like:
intact air bags
seats
seat belts
spare tire and jack

if anyone has recommendations on how to go about doing something like this please post up

Thanks in advanced.

You'd probably get more money selling the car then you would parting it out, unless you sold EVERYTHING. Ebay would be a good start. But you'd be selling the motor, trans, wheels, and even the steering wheel. That's the only way I could imagine getting more money than selling the whole car.
Hey, I'm an eBay and Craigslist guru and I have parted 4 totalled SN95s. EBay and paypal fees came out to about 18% of the sale price last time I checked iirc.

Airbags and sensors and module - $200-400 depending on color and condition
Seats $60-150 " "
Belts - good luck
Spare $20
Jack $10
Tire iron $10

You can get an idea by searching eBay for current and completed auctions of particular parts

Thanks metalman302!

I had the laptop out while watching tv last night and took the ebay advice.

Turns out there were over 1000 items with completed listings in a 6 week period of time. although most of them were injectors that fit the 1999-04 models, there were still a ton of used parts that sold.
bezels
door panels
tires
mirrors
window motors
airbags

after adding up the total of actual sold items i could take off and sell it was around 800-900 bucks worth of stuff. Factor in the price for shipping and the total sale price would around 1300. For the purpose of the Lemons race we're thinking about using the car for this is great news.

I'm still on the fence about selling it to someone that could use it for years to come. its a 1999 with only 78k miles on it, but with it being broken into 4 times there's a lot of little fixes neede to make it a great daily driver again (burns in the back seat, the key/door lock is broken, there's the small hole just under the door lock that they punctured to break in.. etc..)
