Hey. Anybody running and/or have pictures of 20" rims on stock suspension? I may be getting a decent deal on Carol Shelby CS40 rims/tire combo 20x9 front 20x10 rear wrapped in Nitto 555 275/35/20 front and Nitto 555R 305/35/20 rear. Is it going to look REALLY bad untill I drop it an inch or 2 or can I get away without looking dumb for a 6-12 months untill I get springs and shocks/struts/panhard/control arms and all that other good stuff to drop it right and keep everything in line? Pictures of s197 on 20" without any suspension work appreciated and also non sarcastic opinions. Thanks!!

Right now I have a 2014 GT with factory 19" non brembo wheels no suspension mods only exhaust.

American Muscle sells these and they have some photos installed on a couple of cars. The Green mustang looks like stock ride height.

I have looked at the American muscle site and without knowing for sure if they are stock and what tires are on them its hard to judge thats why I was seeing if anybody had anything real to relate to.

Also I did the whole tire calculations and it looks like the fronts will be very close but the rears a lot bigger. Overall general size for my stock tires is 27.68" the 305/35/20 rears would be 28.41". Basically 3/4" larger. The front 275/35/20 is 27.58" or basically 1/10" an inch smaller.

Has anybody run a 20" setup like this on stock suspension and what was your thoughts/outcome? Also pics if you can! LOL I don't want to drop the money on this and then hate it so much I take it off till I can afford to lower the car.

That does not look too horrible. Those are 295/30/20 so that calculates out the rear being 1.44" overall smaller then what is wrapped on these wheels. Good pics though to respresent what it may look like. And also like the after. Thank you on that!

My apologies man, the rears are 295/35. They're a little more meaty, but it works out great both for traction and ride.

Lol thanks man! Only 3/10th" smaller. How was the ride difference coming from I'm guessing stock brembo wheels? Was the jump to 20s on the stock suspension a huge deterioration of ride quality? Being these cars come stock with 19" I wouldn't think it should be THAT bad like some old timers say. I think I may spring for these. Besides if I don't like them I'm 90% sure I can trade/sell them for equal/more then what I'm paying for them. The CS40 rims with stainless/black are pretty sick looking. Not too often I see rims like that but damn specs say they are heavy lil buggers. I should get them within the next 24/48 hours I'll put pics up if I do. Anybody else have pics of 20's on stock suspension from any angle plz post!

I came from a 3 series BMW that had 19" wheels with low profile tires, so in stock form the brembo wheels with the track pack suspension I had originally was worlds better just because there was more sidewall. I wouldn't say the track pack suspension performed better than what the BMW had. That being said, I was always extremely cautious with the setup from the BMW. When I put the 20" wheels on the Mustang I was expecting it to be the same, but it wasn't too bad on the track pack suspension. The car just felt like a boat and didn't handle well. In addition my axle wasn't centered which you could feel when accelerating hard. After the upgrade, everything was much better. The only thing I notice now is that you feel everything, and I mean everything. Not enough to turn me off of it, but much more and I'm sure the larger wheels play into that. You won't regret it in you eventually do upgrade. The car handles great now. All the dynamics are much improved.

Just got finish putting on the stainless and black shelby CS40. Front looks decent but the back is high! Borderline retarded but not quite. I think imma rock um for a week and see what happens. Holy crap my car has a donkey ass now! 305 wide in the back now and before the borla tips were the eye pop from the rear. They look tiny now the tires are so wide it really put an ass on the car hahaha. I think GT500 mud flaps will help even out the look. Pics as soon as I wash the damn thing.

20x9 and 20x10 with 275/35 and 305/35 on stock suspension...lowering with supporting suspension mods isn't in the budget right now so gonna have to look like this for a while.

Is your driveway on an angle? The wheel gap in that top picture looks larger in the front than the back.

I noticed after putting on the 20's was that it seemed to make the gap between the tire and the fender well look bigger. Tires were overal the same diameter as the stock, but the bigger wheel and smaller sidewall just seemed to make it look bigger.

Car did not ride "boatlike" at all, if anything felt just a tad stiffer.
