Hey guys, i just purchased a 2000 mustang gt a couple months ago. The speedo is way off. I mean it tells me about 1/5 of the actual speed im going. It has aftermarket gauge cluster. Also the abs light is on for "Speed wheel mismatch" Does anybody have any idea about this? Maybe the speedo needle wasnt put on right?

What does the PCM think the speed is via datalogging? If it is different than the cluster then yes, the needle was not properly re-aligned or whatever. If the PCM and cluster are the same, than you have different rear gears than stock or a tune with the wrong gear ratio chosen in the tune.

If the ONLY problem was that the needle was put on incorrectly then the speed would be off by the SAME amount at all speeds. If the speed is off by an amount that changes as the speed increases, then it's a different problem. As as already been suggested, you need to figure out the ratio amount that it's off.

Are there different size wheels on the front from the back?

Are there any other mods to this car? For example a transmission swap from a different model year?
