When I bought my 2002 V6 convertible it had an aftermarket stereo in it. It has been broken into several times and the radio has since been damaged. I would like to put the stock stereo back in, but I can't seem to find anyone who can correctly tell me what the vehicle came with. I know it was a mach system because I have the little wedge speakers at the mirrors and there are 2 OEM amps in the trunk as well. I purchased a unit off of eBay I was told was the correct one. then, because whatever genius installed the aftermarket system cut and spliced instead of using adapters, I ordered replacement plugs (of course you can't get these from Ford so they are aftermarket parts that are supposed to fit the OEM equipment) and the 2 don't fit together! Now I have no idea if any of what I have is right. When I use my VIN on the Ford website I can identify from the diagram I need part 18806, but that number doesn't seem to correspond to any real part numbers!!! Someone please help me sort this out... It's been almost a year since I've had a working stereo in my car and I'm going crazy!

thanks!!!

why are you worried about putting the stock system back in?? if it is giving you a major headache then just go aftermarket. Ig you dont know what you are doing thing i would try not to restore it back to original. Just get some good aftermarket stuff and be happy
