2002 Mustang GT Theft Light Flashes after Turn off.

hi my 02 mustang gt theft light keeps flashing after i turn it off. car starts up fine and i put the key in the on position and theft light stops blinking and goes away. I only have one key, i think i might have a bad chip in the key so i need a new one? if someone can help that will be great thanks

Does it blink rapidly or just every few seconds? If it is every few seconds then it is normal.. Well normal to my car atleast.

Yes, after I turn it off it probably blinks every 2 seconds. I'm thinking i need a new key, I just wanna be sure before spending 100$ on a new key if that would make a difference. When I'm about to turn the car on I go in the "on" postion the theft light goes bold and then stops flashing and goes away.

That is normal. That means the PATS is working
