It started about a week ago. Made this awful sound like there is a chihuahua under the hood and it's in pain. Sometimes it doesn't make this sound, but the majority of the time it does. My mechanic has checked the belt, alternator, water pump, crank, pulleys, pretty much everything. He'll be checking the distributor tomorrow.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything else need to be checked? I'm at my wits end.

Welcome... Could be a bad idler pulley or tensioner pulley.

It sounds like it would be the cam synchronizer if you are sure it is not belt related......

i have the exact same prooblem woth my stang right now. im thinking bout just goin to autozone and buying that stuff that stops the squeling. hope it works
