2003 Mustang GT 4.6L When do I need to replace my clutch?

last clutch i had was in a f250. the 1st slave unit went out little over 100k and the disk looked like new still. when i replaced the 3rd slave unit, little over 200k, i replaced the pressure plate and disk, but the disk still looked like new. it probably didnt need it, but like the other guys said, if your gonna drop the trans, thats the time to change stuff. of course, i wasnt racing the truck :winks i exploded a clutch disk in my 67, only took a few thousand miles

Alright! Thanks for all the input. I also go by the rule, "If it aint broke, don't fix it." What I was concerned about was catching it before rivets got into the flywheel or something like that. However, the flywheel is reletively cheap and will need to be turned or replaced if and when I do the clutch anyway. Thanks again!

If it still grabs good, the pedal isn't hard as a rock, and the Pilot and TO bearings aren't whining at you there's no need to change it!

As far as the clutch if it broke dont fix it.
