Hello, I have read several posts on here and on other sites about people having problems with their tops and can not find one that is having the same problems that I am having.
If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

My top will not go up by itself, the weird part is that the passenger side wants to go up, but the drivers side won't budge.
I have to get out, push the button and then pull it up.
It just happened, and yesterday it was going up and down by itself
just fine on both sides.

I have read about bleeding the lines, lift cylinder, and replacing the motor, but not sure where to start looking to fix the problem.

You need to check the fluid level in your system, you will need to remove the back seat, pull out the rubber stopper and check the level, if its low (below the bottom of the opening) fill it with fluid (ATM fluid). cycle several times all the way up and down, recheck the level.

I just had to fix the same problem on my 04 vert and the lift cylinders were leaking a little everytime the top went up so i pulled them out and took them to the local hydro shop for a rebuild and they told me the seals were still really good just the motion of going up and down pulls fluid out but i had new ones put in anyway since they were out. I called my local ford dealership and they had the ATF liuid dex5 if I remember right and it was less than $5 for a quart and I still have more than 3/4 of the quart after filling up my system. I left my cylinders laying on the back seat area and blead them right there just moving them in and out and had the fluid feeding the pump. Works fine now and for $40 I fixed my system when the dealership wanted $500..:bigthumbsup As for the rubber stop, its a pain but lube it up with the ATF and I used a teflon stick I used to use while working in the body shop so it didnt tear, just work it slow.
