Hey guys I'm new to this site, and I have a 2003 Mustang GT with a flowmaster exhaust, o/r xpipe, CAI, plenum and 70mm TB. I'm planning on getting a short shifter soon, and also a sound system so I cant put on polleys! so I need your help I'm out of idea's on what other performance I could put on other than supercharger. I know I can put on gears i wanted 3.55 or 3.73 but on highway speeds my RMP's would be too high like at 80mpg I'd be at like 3000rpm right? any sugestions are appresiated. thanks

I don't understand why some people are so afraid of gears? As long as you don't get too crazy with them gears are the best mod for the money. I'd get a set of 373's ( I have 410's) if you want performance increase but spend alot of time on the freeway. At 80mph you'll probably be running 2600-2700rpm. Gears always wind up being worse in your head than in reality. As far as other performance mods go, you pretty much have all the inexpensive ones covered you'll have to dig a little deeper in the wallet to continue. You can still do headers, heads, cams, custom or box tune.

I don't know how you drive your car but brakes, suspension, chassis upgrades are always an option.

Good luck

It does harm anything putting in gears and yea 300 is about right for gear install. It's not cheap for being a relativey small job but worth it, make sure you find a good drivetrain shop or it will become a potential headache.
