So i recently installed the SCT Tuner & Steeda Intake from Americanmuscle.com. Now i know the top speed of a stock is 05-09 gt is 149. But does anyone have any idea to what the (bama 89 octane performance) tune does to your top speed?

Top speed depends on a lot of things (aerodynamics, motor, tranny, redline, final drive ratio, etc.)... All the tune does is removes the top speed governor.

I know that it removes the governor. What im trying to find out is whats the top speed with the governor now being removed and the rest of the car being pretty much stock(except for the intake).

Mine is set at 180mph but can I get there probably not mine likes speeds around 90-130 very easy to handle and the brakes will feel like a little bit like chopping wood but I can control it have U greased the the brake hardware?? It would be a shame if one of the pads did not release at high speeds the frontend will shake and may result in loss of control so before you beat them treat them and they will take care of U.

The speedo only goes up to 140 so i dunno lol. But 160 should be attainable, but the governer is set there for a reason, to keep the engine safe :smilie

I've read 194 is the top speed, but like hotshot said, its there for a reason, mostly to keep the drive shaft from snapping, which could wind up killing you. I wouldn't push it too much past 140

Its there because that is the speed that the OEM tires are rated for and it is a liability issue for Ford if they set it higher.

I've seen video of a GT500 with twin turbo's doing runs at the Texas Mile with a stock driveshaft with no issues. Launches and hard gear changes with lots of traction brake driveshafts, not how fast you spin them (to a point of course).

Not if you are running driveshaft loops which you should be if you are trying to go that fast.

I wouldn't push it too much past 140
