I am trying to find a good adapter to attach to my Shaker 500 stereo with a 6cd changer. i have seen various items from PIE and PAC item yet i dont know which ones actually work and work well. i have seen posts that some do not work with the 2005 mustang. whats the difference between the 05 and 06 shaker 500 system?

let me know if anyone has installed an ipod interface into their 05 g.

the diff is the early 500 head unit just do not support that stuff. to find out if yours will or not
1 turn on am or FM.
2 hold #3 and #6 presets at the same time(this will start the speaker test)
3 push i think it is #6 or find which one it is (1-6) an one is the model # the web sites for PEI OR PAC say what works or what dose not. i have the i simple one,works great and it let me ad sat radio. good luck!hope this helps.

i have the Brandmotion Ipod kit and I think its the best kit ever! I've had 2 different ipod kits installed in my 05 and this one tops it all! it allows me to control my ipod through the headunit and it charges it completely. works very well with my 05.

althought the brandmotion website says the kit will not work with 05s, it will work for 05s that had the shaker 500/1000s replaced way back in the beginning when the units were defective and got replaced with 06 and newer shaker units. I've had 2 different shaker 1000 units replaced under warranty.

plug and play kit. very easy to install but the b*tch part is getting to the back of the headunit, there's a lot of taking apart the center console. if you've never taken apart the center console before, download the workshop manual for the pictures and step instructions

if you dont feel comfortable doing it, we can meet up somewhere and I'll install it for you. take about an hour to install, no charge!
