First off let me say I just moved to Pensacola, FL. SO if anyone knows any mustang meetings or anything around here please let me know.
Now to business. I want to put in racing seats and 5 point harness belts in my car and does anyone know mounting positions for the harness?

If you are going racing with an association, their rule book will likely spell out what to do to be safe. SCCA's Driver Restraint specifications begin on page 79 of the General Competition Rules which you can download here:
http://www.scca.org/documents/Club Rules/GCR2008.pdf

I understand it is illegal to use non-DOT-approved belts and harnesses on the highway. You might check your state's rules.

The only proper and legal way to mount a 5 or 6 point harness is if you have a rollbar or full cage.
Most racing bodies wont approve anything mounted to a bolt in harness bar. I've setup harnesses twice in S197 Mustangs but of course using a rollbar for the shoulder harness.

well ive seen that sparco makes a mounting bar for the 99 04 mustang. I want to show my car as a race car (custom paint and such, but soon to have 630 hp), but i dont wanna spend the time doing a full cage.

Then just do a 6 point bar with swing outs. Thats what I have. You can even remove the swingout when driving on the street. Plus, if you do ever want to go to the track, you can actually run without getting kicked out.

I have the RJS 5 point harness, 6-point bar, but I retained the stock seats.

I don't quite understand that statement. Are you going to race it? If not , just bolt up the harness any old way you want. If you are building a car to race you can't use a harness bar and be legal. oh what are you doing to your car to produce exactly this 630HP? Will that be measured at the crank or rear wheels?

I want the racing seat and harness to help make the look of the car. Not for racing. And i was talking about 530 hp at the fly as a rough guess. I am going to throw in some Comp Cams (30 hp), Port the heads (30 hp), put on the ford racing supercharger (200 hp), and a 75 shot. Granted this is not going be to finished until next year. But its a work in progress.

hey im new to allfordmustangs but the reason i joined was because i was looking if there is a simple 1 bar that bolts from each side where the factory seatbelts used to be (simular to what ive seen in a 350z) for the mustang that a 4 point can simply strap onto
