My current set-up is 255-35-20 front and 275-35-20 in rear, I want to get the Nitto 20" drag radials but I have only found 275-40-20 and 305-35-20, which one would work best?? any advice would be great...
The 305 is over an inch wider. Otherwise the rest of the specs in regards to size are very close. This is due to the aspect ratio of the sidewall height being expressed as a percentage of the width. therefore the 40% aspect ratio of the 275 (4.33 inches sidewall height)is very close to the 35% of the 305 ( 4.20 sidewall)My current set-up is 255-35-20 front and 275-35-20 in rear, I want to get the Nitto 20" drag radials but I have only found 275-40-20 and 305-35-20, which one would work best?? any advice would be great...
IMO you'd be better off putting that wide of a tire on a 20x10 rim. It might fit a 20x9 but it may bulge. You might want to ask the people that mount your tires? but IMO you'd be better off with a 20x10 rimWill the 305 rear fit on 20x9" Shelby's
If you go to the Nitto web site you can see what rim with is recommended for the tires. 10" is minimWill the 305 rear fit on 20x9" Shelby's
Will the 305 rear tires fit on 20"x9" Shelby rims?
travelers is right. You would need a 10" wide rim for the 305s. The GT500 comes with 9-1/2" wide rims and they don't even recommend mounting 305s on them.Nitto recommends a minimum 10" wide rim for their 305 tire width.
