Looking to change my 3.55s for 4.10s . Any feedback on this swap? Running the 1/4 mile at 12.6 @111 mph in third gear.
I would highly recommend ya stay away from the 4.10 and go 3.73 at the most since you are supercharged. My KB blown 2v gets crazy with 3.73's, it would be a lot harder to get traction with 4.10 and a blower. There wont be too much difference since you are already 3.55, but you should still notice.

I personally would go with the 3:73s since you have a PD blower. I have 3:73s and first gear is really quick. I can't imagine how fast it would be with 4:10s! You will also need drag radials for sure. When I had regular street tires, first gear was useless at WOT. I would instantly roast the tires and hit the rev limiter in an instant. Now that I have drag radials, I can accelerate through first and second and control it. Even with traction, first gear is really quick with 3:73s on a blown car.

Have not made the change myself on my Roush but most on the fnsweet site recommend going to the 410s. I was always told if you don't jump 2 sizes its a waste of time and money. Going on that idea, 373s would be a waste.

I went from 325 to 373s on a 95 gt and could notice a difference. If I had went to the 355s I would not have been able to tell the difference at all. So for me it seems like a pretty good rule

I jumped to 4.10's in late 2008 and was unsure if I made the right choice or not. I've had them nearly 2 years now and think their a bit to much for the power its putting down now (420rwhp 372 tq). I mostly road course the car now and am seriously thinking of dropping down to 3.73's after this year.

Well I went with 4.10s and all seemed good .Till I went to the track, I lost 5 mph in top end and .5 seconds in time. I should have stuck with 3.73 ...But was told by the installer I would not feel the differance. Thanks for the input . Ken

I hate it when someone tells people you have to go up two gear sizes to "feel" a difference. "Feeling" a difference doesn't have a hill of beans to do with the optimum gear for your setup. Going up from a 3:55 to a 3:73 might not be a big jump, but if it works better for your setup then it makes sense. If my car would have come with 3:55s, I would have still went with 3:73s because that is what I wanted with my setup. 4:10s are mighty steep for use with a pd supercharger. I know you don't want to hear it, but I would consider going back down to a 3:73. Just wondering, were you running any type of drag radial? If not, you might want to also try a taller stickier tire.

Seems it's got a lot to do with the shift point. 5.0 magazine test team got ahold of the new 5.0 and they ran ran mid to low 12's with it but knew that it had more than that simply because of the gearing. They wound up running out of RPM's before the 1/4mile was over and had to shift right at the end of it, which is a waste. So for them a different shift point(gear) would have been better. On the street it's driver prefernece. Competition is different though. I think that might be why a lot of people say 3.73's are best for the strip with our cars. I have never been to the strip and have only what I read so take it for what it's worth.

I currently have the shelby 20 inch rim with 255/35 tires, witch actually makes them .15 of an inch smaller in diameter than the stock tire. Drag tires they are not. should have kept 2 original rim\tire for just that. Shift point went from just before red line in third gear ,to deep into 4th at the finish line. Looking at my time slips I gain some at the 60' but its lost at the 1000'.... I thought shifting into 4th would help my times but its not......

Your going to need a different rear wheel/tire combo to get a decent time. I bet you are really having to baby it off the line right now.
