Hi,
I have a 2006 mustang GT with the base model stereo. I am replacing the head unit and speakers powered by a 5 channel amp. I have an antenna adaptor, and a Metra 70-5520 wiring harness to use, but I am not sure which all wires should be connected. I assume speaker wires do not need to be because i will be running front, rear, and sub RCA's to my amp. I assume I should hook up only the 3 following wires from the new stereo to the wiring harness:
Constant Power, Dimmer, Ground (should I connect 12v switched power? I assume this if for factory amps that I don't have making this obsolete.)
I assume I should connect the amp turn on directly from the stereo to the amp (no wiring harness needed).
I would greatly appreciate anyone who could tell my my assumptions are correct or incorrect and if I am missing anything.
Head Unit- Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS
Speakers- JL C5-570 (front) C5-570x rear deck
Amp 10ZXM700.5 (already had this)
Sub- To add at a later date.
