i was looking through my sct x3 programmer earlier and i saw something that said "shift press". what is that?:scratchchin

It's only a guess but it probably means shift pressure.

This setting adjusts how hard the car shifts. It is usually adjusted as a percentage, either positive (harder shift) or negative (softer shift). This value is, of course, limited by the maximum line pressure in the transmission.

For example, if you set this to 25% the transmission will try to shift 25% harder than the value originally in your tune. Be careful messing with this, as the person who wrote your tune has probably already made the shifts firmer, and you don't want to go overboard and break something.
