Some have had a problem with the Husky not sealing properly at the drain plug. I don't think it's rated high enough vacuum-wise.
2006 Mustang GT: oil seperator question
Whats the proper way to set up the oil seperator? i was thinking of using the husky filter from home depot, will this work... i am supercharged so will this cause a boost leak? or is it ok to use?

hmm any opinion on what to use then? i know that are out are pretty expensive so!

The Steeda one works too but when I went to a Procharger I migrated to a Moroso catch can because of more capacity and what seems like MUCH greater filtering capacity too.

I fabbed a bracket for it. It's plumbed into a catch can on my car. But it can also be used in a vacuum line. It has a -6 drain port. I routed that back to the crank case via the front cover. It vents the crank case directly, and recirculates captured oil back to the pan.
It's pretty sturdy. I can't imagine it ever breaking, despite the abuse I give it.

Ill take some pics of mine in the morning. I do not have it installed right now because like stl said it has a drain leak and it was pouring onto my spark plugs and valve covers. I an looking for a compound right now to seal it up, but it does catch good amounts of oil when its not leaking.

+1 on that. All of that blow by also starts to turn the oil acidic and creates sludge and varnish. You want that stuff out of the crankcase, not in it.That's really not such a good idea. There's a lot more than just oil in there--oil, water, fuel, and dirt. Not something I'd want to put back into the engine.
I have that Moroso too .boB and it works really well but like you Mark I'm running out of room so anything more of any size is probably going to have to be remote located.
I also considered the Stef's Engineering piece. But it's pricey and again the size is still an issue.
I have the Moroso unit on mine. I cut the -12 connectors off and welded some -10 bungs on so as not to need the adaptors. I'm currently looking to find a better front crank seal to run the system closed under vacuum. With the passenger side inlet plugged, the engine will generate 6.5" of vacuum. Only problem is that when the engine gets up to operating temp, the stock seal will only hold about 5". When it loses vacuum, it squeals like Ned Beatty in Deliverance. Hence the quest for a better front seal. I did drive the car with the 5" of vacuum, and there was a noticeable difference in performance.

Just put a vacuum cap on the drain on the Husky filter and it will stop the leak.

Only issue is you really need to check to see what some of these are rated at vacuum-wise. Some won't work well.Just put a vacuum cap on the drain on the Husky filter and it will stop the leak.

I have an oil seperator, but the hose going from the seperator to the intake still has oil in it! The arrow on the seperator is pointing towards the intake and a vacuum cap is on the bottom.
