I am looking to buy a strut tower brace for a 06 gt. how do you install the brace? I can not find any instructions on line. Is it simple, most posts say it only takes about 15 minutes.

Welcome to AFM

Depending on which one you get you either remove 2 nuts on each side or 4 nuts and place it on the studs and then re-torque the nuts.
Be careful though. Some will fit over the engine plenum cover and some will not. Most of them will tell you in the description if they do or not.

But yes, just a matter of removing a few bolts and putting it in place. If it takes you 15 min you don't have your tools organized. It is that easy. I also noted some of them warn against using the bolts again. Just food for thought. I used mine.

Unless you have suspension mods and VERY sticky fat rubber you are wasting your money. The chassis (strut towers) won’t even get close to flexing until it is loaded a lot more than you can without the above mods. Unless you find a strut tower brace that goes from tower to tower and from tower to firewall. There is a lot of flex between the towers and the fire wall but nearly none between the towers.
The steeda tower brace will fit just fine. Fits over the plenum cover with about a 1/8" clearance and only requires you to remove 2 bolts on both sides then re-bolt them. They are nice! Makes it look nicer under the hood as well.

Aside from looking nice what other kind of nice is there?
on the front i have 255/45/18's and on the back i have 275/40/18's sumitumo summer tires. the only concern i have with handling is the understeer. i just happend accross these braces and thought maybe it might make a difference. before the brace i believe i'm going to by a tuner. not sure witch one. ideas?

You should get on that your tuner, if you have one, tunes with. The most popular is the SCT

I wouldnt personally waste ur cash on it with what mods u have unless just going for looks, which in that case id say go for it. I didnt know ud have to retune for that? I get my SCT and CAI friday... good to know

have you tried swaybars?

Tuner, no idea. My dyno guy does that stuff.;)

As far as the understeer goes the strut brace won't do a thing and if it did it would make it worse. To correct understeer you want swaybars and one of them needs to be adjustable.
