2006 Mustang... Starting LED bulb replacement

Hello fellow horse lovers! Started to replace bulbs on my '06 Mustang with LED's. First attempt has not gone well. Replaced two 921 bulbs in backup lights & they only flash for a second when car is put in reverse & then go out. Any ideas? Appreciate any advice.
