Be prepared for the can of worms you are opening for this topic. I personally like the X Charger, but it is not intercooled. They will have an intercooler model later this summer, or you could self install an aftermarket intercooler for the X yourself ... they do exist.

A lot of guys like the Procharger supercharger on this site, and it is a solid setup.

If you go to Shelby's site, they have a Paxton Novi supercharger exclusively designed for Shelby. You can't get it anywhere else. Shelby has a full conversion from the Mustang V6 to the Shelby CS6 (400hp) on their site. They use the Paxton to get that boost in hp, but that isn't the only thing involved. This is most likely the best SC out there for the V6, but it is far from the only solid setup.

If you are set on a SC over a turbo system those are just about all of your options that I'm aware of. Sorry I don't know about tq or mpg, but most of these should get you 80-100hp once properly tuned depending on the psi you run.

To be perfectly honest, I would stick with your Vortech. $3200 installed is a great price. The basic SC on Vortech's website is going for $3761 ... so you are saving a few hundred bucks. Most high output SC are going for $4400-$5400 without install. Even if you do the install yourself with the other ones you are saving around $1000. Save the money, and get your car dyno tuned at your local shop. Make sure you tell them about your fuel economy needs. You should be very happy.

Do you happen to know which Vortech SC you are going to get. They have standard systems and high output. Check out their website for more details once you know (vortechsuperchargers.com).

Later on you can add better pistons, heads and cams to your engine to really make that baby scream.

Best of luck.

well im not sure which kind it is, but it also does come with the intercooler. ive heard that vortech is pretty solid and gives great gains, and is reliable.
I haven't heard anything negative about any of the V6 power adders. So you should be pretty happy. If you are buying used, just make sure you are really getting a good piece. Even if it is the low end Vortech you're still saving a few hundred bucks + install.
The Vortech is a nice SC, should give you the peak hp you want since it's centrifugal:bigthumbsup
I really like my Xcharger.Performs great and when you open the hood its a real eye catcher.
I have a few other mods to go with it and am on the verge of 100mph in the 1/4 mile,,,already hit 13.889 . I know it will do better but its an automatic to.
I chose the X because of ease of installation and looks...

but theyre all good...

Just can't beat the "look" and easy install of the X

Car knowledge definitely helps, but mostly it's taking your time, being careful and knowing how to properly use tools. Planning ahead helps too.
yea i do like way the x charger looks. ive jus started hearing about it not to long ago

"They will have" or "They should have"??? Wasn't aware they had set any kind of date??? Last mock-up I seen it didn't appear it was going to be anywhere near able to fit under a stock hood... so I think you'll be adding a cowl hood...

As far as adding an aftermarket IC... going to take some custom fabbing...

I have the vortech V2 w/charge cooler and I am very happy. However, if you want more rwhp/rwt you might look into twin turbo's. The specs I have seen show a v6 pushing near 400 hp. My Vortech can't touch that. Good luck. (sorry for late reply, been awhile since I checked forums.)
I would honestly look into Mike Bowen's Powerhouse Turbo, it is more money but definetly worth it, I'm not trying to pick on John (fishingjts) or supercharged cars in general but from what i saw on John's website he was running i think 10 maybe 11 PSI and making 313 RWHP and 298 rwtq. Respectable numbers right?

Well at 8.3 PSI i was making the same horsepower (313 rwhp) and 377 torque that's almost 3 less PSI and better numbers and the potential for turbo's is quite a bit higher not to mention the ease in just turning the boost up and down instead of changing out pullys (i think i saw that some superchargers you can just change the boost like a turbo but im not sure)

Just something you might want to consider, i know my car got screwed up after the turbo but it was not the turbo that caused it exactly, i just had an underlying problem and anything that was gonna put more power to my car would have had the same result.

if you have any in detail questions feel free to PM me or if it's general just reply :bigthumbsup
