I have an opportunity to purchase a 5.4 SVT engine. Other then the obvious electrical, fuel cooling connections is it practical. I know the big blocks are a VERY snug fit, but has anyone tried the 5.4?

You have to cut out the shock towers weld in a mustang 2 kit.Make your own motor mounts maybe cut out the tranny tunnel depending on which tranny you want.I'd never use a mod motor i seen the ugly side to them all the problems and recalls.The 6.4 dohc is taller and wider then any ford big block.

It's going to be a very labor intensive swap. A lot of fabricating, welding and fitting. Unless you're able to do it yourself, it will cost a fortune.

Even if you do your own swap, you still will have to buy a front suspension set up and change the steering linkage.

With the information I received, I believe I will stay with building up a 289/302. I appreciate the response.

It being a 67 you can use any small block or even a big block they all bolt in it.The big blocks are a tight fit tho.
