Has anybody tried making the the GT Appearance Package hood scoop functional; or know on a kit to achieve this?

You can't just make a cosmetic hood scoop functional. Even if you just cut a hole in the hood and opened up the scoop, you would have to worry about water getting into the hood. If you want a functional hood scoop, check out the shaker hood system. American Muscle sells them. Several here on the site have them, and they are a pretty awesome appearance mod, but they don't really add any performance value. +1 on immunizations.... The mustang virus is similar to herpes.... You can get get over it for a while, but you will continue to have recurring outbreaks! :happyhapp

You could always get an aftermarket hood with a functional hood scoop/air inlet

Bad idea... A hood scoop needs some water management capability.
