So I am looking for a place to change the TPMS out to my new wheels, but nowhere but the dealership will do this for me... and they want nearly 400 to mount/balance w/tpms.

How are you guys getting this done?:headscratch:

A regular tire shop in town did mine, but they do ding ya pretty hard for the labor. It cost me around $200 which included the new bands at $16. ea which they had in stock. Its expensive since they have to break down/re-balance your old tires and wheels too in order to have the sensors. Definitely something to consider when changing wheels.
The local Discount Tires had everything that was needed when I changed my wheels. It wasn't as expensive as the dealer, by far, but it still cost more than it should have.

happy i only have a 05 and dont have that worry!!!!!!!!!!!!! we dont have that sensor
Check Belle tire they told me $25.00 to install and rebalance the tire and also included the band for the sensor

I think the TPMS is worthless anyway. I kind of wish my car did not have this feature.:thumbdown

I agree, and mine doesn't seem to work any way:thumbdown
Boy have we been down this road before. And I agree with you. I do not like them.
can't you just not install the TPMS system in your new tires and pretend like you have an '05?
What are these tire shops going to do in a few years when all cars coming in have TPMS? Will the "special fee" eventually be phased out?
You can get the straps for $16, I put all the straps and sensors on in about an hour. It's pretty easy. Then, they got taken off today when my tries were mounted. I have 3-piece wheels, so they could not get the tires on over the sensors. I just made a post about this before seeing yours. Needless to say, I have 20" straps and the OEM senors that are worthless :)
