2007 Mustang GT trunk emblem STOLEN

17520 Views 24 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  JetBlack
This morning I noticed that the emblem on the trunk of my car was stolen...

What makes this worse is the car was parked in my driveway and the punk gouged the paint on the trunk with the tool used to remove it (looks like it was screwdriver)

Ugh...

I talked to the Police. They told me there has been a rash of emblems being stolen in our town for the past few days. He recommends I hold off replacing the emblem for a while.

Anyway....

Does anyone know of a simple chrome ring to fit around the trunk key hole to give it a finished look? Links?

I'll probably replace the stock emblem but I'm curious.

Thanks....

Punk-a$$ lookin' t' get his neck snapped.

In the meantime, maybe you can get a local vinyl/sign shop to whip up a magnetic rear deck blackout panel for you. Can't imagine it'd be too pricey.
Wow.. I have never heard of people stealing GT emblems.
I asked if they were targeting Mustangs.

He said it was all different types of cars. I guess I was just one of the luck Mustang owners.... ;)

This a problem years ago with VW round emblems. They wore them on a chain around their necks.
when I was back in school people would pop the emblems off the front of cars and mount them on belt buckles.
Geez.....people will steal anything. I just wonder why the trunk emblems/badges and what are they gonna do with them? Stereos, wheels/tires, etc. I can see but emblems?
replace it and hide inside the car with a shotgun loaded with rock salt! :bigthumbsup
where is your trunk monkey?
That really sucks man. Find him, and kill him. Oh wait, don't do that.
yes....kill them.....oh, did i say that out loud?

stealing one instead of just buying one....sad.

A.M. has magnetic blackouts for cheap. good luck
That is pretty sad man. You can buy those things on ebay for like $10! Hopefully whatever you get covers up the scratches. If you are lookin for something a little different to replace it with Billet Depot has a few options. About a 1/3 of the way down:

If I were you I would get the full blackout option since you have to have the emblem removed for it anyways. heres a link.

This wasn't part of the plan but with the fake gas cap off I figured I'd give something new a try.

I ordered CDC's decklid black out panel today....

Here's the inspiring image.

I finally got around to "installing" the CDC Rear Decklid Blackout Panel...

I like it... If the fake gas cap emblem hadn't been stolen I don't know if I'd remove it for this, but things as they are, it looks alright.

Excellent point!

I did put some touch up paint over the scratch. A lazy no prep effort. It didn't look so hot. Being that it's under the panel, no one ever has to see it....
